ABQ gets better every time you visit it. There’s a lot to love even though it’s rough around the edges!

Absolutely 100%! I enjoyed my time here and would visit again soon with some itinerary changes.

I moved to ABQ for a year during covid and it was chock full of unexpected, delightful surprises!

my home state! hooray! major props for spelling chile right 💚❤️ recommendation for yah next NM trip—try Carlsbad and the Caverns, or if you want an absolutely unique experience, catch an opera at the Santa Fe Opera house. open air desert amphitheater, excellent shows, and people dress in opera black and tailgate beforehand. awwwww your article makes me miss it all 💛❤️💛

I'd like to visit Santa Fe instead of ABQ on my next trip to NM, these are some great recs!

Everything you said is true about ABQ. Quirky, interesting, etc. I lived there for 1 1/2 years working as travel nurse. You really have to get away from the city to appreciate the area. Oooof!! Bad call on getting hotel on Central. 🤣

Lots to see and do in and around the area. I remember viewing the comet Hale-Bopp. What an awesome sight!!

I 100% agree. And I will never again get a hotel on Central needless to say...

Love this post and reflection on your trip to Albuquerque. It’s been years since I’ve visited. Growing up in Odessa, Tx, we traveled to Ruidoso more. 😊
